Rooms To Go Celebrates 20+ Years of Going Green

At Rooms To Go, going green is more than just a fad, it's a way of life. Rooms To Go employees are proud of our corporate philosophy advocating the effects of recycling on our environment, from the corporate level to the individual associate. Each can have a positive and sustainable impact on our environment.

Rooms To Go's first cardboard recycling program launches with the goal of reducing the amount of solid waste sent straight to the landfill. A 39 person team is appointed to sort out cardboard waste from the left over packaging sent back the distribution center following furniture deliveries.

The successful recycling program, which recovered 800 tons of cardboard waste in its first year, is expanded to include plastics.

A wood recycling program is introduced to the effective program.

A Styrofoam recycling program was introduced giving the company the ability to recover all four of the main recyclable conditions to the effective program.

A state-of-the-art recycling center within the newest distribution center in Dunn, N.C. further reduces the company's environmental footprint.

As Rooms To Go continues our success in the furniture industry, the company's recycling efforts have prevented over 300,000 tons of solid waste from entering the landfill.
