    Rooms To Go Celebrates Over 30 Years of Recycling

    Rooms To Go believes that it has a civic responsibility and commitment to our communities. That is why we have spent decades creating a robust recycling program. Rooms To Go collects packaging from its merchandise after deliveries are made then sorts and forwards them on for recycling processing.


    1992

    Rooms To Go's first cardboard recycling program is launched. In its first year, Rooms To Go recycles approximately 800 tons of cardboard.

    1996

    The recycling program continues to flourish and is expanded to include the recycling of plastic.

    1999

    A wood recycling program is introduced into the existing recycling initiatives.

    2000

    At our distribution centers in Florida and Georgia, Rooms to Go recycles nearly 3,300 tons of material, which constitutes 75% of all our cardboard and 65% of all our plastic packaging.

    2006

    A styrofoam recycling program is introduced.

    2015

    A state-of-the-art recycling center is launched in our new distribution center located in Dunn, N.C.

    2019

    Rooms To Go wins the EPA’s National WasteWise Award in the Large Business Category as the Partner of the Year.

    2023

    Rooms To Go increases its recycling footprint, now having recycling operations in seven states: Florida, Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee & Mississippi.

    Rooms To Go's recycling efforts have prevented over 451,000 tons of solid waste from entering a landfill.

    For over 30 years, our mission has been to help our customers love their homes while also working hard to recognize the need to be responsible corporate citizens. Every time you shop at Rooms To Go, you help us achieve our goal of diverting waste from landfills and, instead, recycling packaging materials such as cardboard, plastic, wood, and styrofoam for other uses.

    With seven recycling centers currently up and running and collaborations with local recycling organizations across the country, we’re committed to minimizing the amount of waste that enters our landfills.
