Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.
How much light does this floor lamp provide for a general living space?
This lamp is designed to provide both functional task lighting and warm ambient glow. It features a rotary switch and accommodates a single bulb of up to 100 watts (not included). When paired with a 100-watt equivalent LED—which typically produces about 1,600 lumens—it offers sufficient brightness to illuminate a dark corner or serve as a primary light source in a smaller room. The beige linen shade serves to diffuse the light, softening the output to create an inviting atmosphere while preventing direct glare.
What are the best practices for cleaning the brass finish and the linen shade?
To preserve the brass-tone polish and the integrity of the linen, our care guidelines recommend regular maintenance. Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to dust the metal base and stem; avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the finish over time. For the square linen shade, a gentle vacuuming with a soft brush attachment is the most effective way to remove dust and allergens while maintaining the fabric's crisp, beige appearance.
Is this lamp tall enough to use next to a sofa or in a room with higher ceilings?
Standing at 65.5 inches tall, this lamp is intentionally designed with a slightly higher profile than the standard 58- to 64-inch floor lamp. This extra height makes it an ideal choice for homes with vaulted or high ceilings, as it helps fill the vertical space. Additionally, its stature ensures that when placed beside a sofa or sectional, the light source is positioned high enough to provide effective overhead-style illumination for reading without being obstructed by the furniture.
Is this lamp suitable for a small apartment or a compact corner?
Yes, this lamp is a strategic choice for urban apartments or rooms where floor space is at a premium. With a slim, square base measuring just 13.75 inches wide and deep, it has a very compact footprint that allows it to be tucked neatly into tight corners or positioned behind narrow end tables. Its vertical silhouette provides necessary room illumination without the bulk of a wider tripod or arched base.
Is the construction of this lamp stable enough for a home with pets or active children?
Stability is a hallmark of this lamp’s design. The base is crafted from solid metal, providing significant weight and a lower center of gravity compared to lightweight plastic or thin wood alternatives. This sturdy metal construction makes the lamp more resistant to tipping in high-traffic areas. To ensure maximum safety in households with pets or children, we recommend placing the 13.75-inch square base on a flat, even floor or a low-pile area rug for optimal balance.
How can I coordinate a brass-toned lamp with my current furniture and decor?
Brass and gold-toned finishes are exceptionally versatile, acting as a warm metallic neutral. Based on our interior design expertise, brass accents like this one provide a sophisticated contrast when paired with cool-toned furniture, such as navy blue velvet sofas or charcoal gray sectionals. Because the lamp also features a square beige linen shade, it integrates effortlessly into contemporary or transitional rooms that utilize natural textures and earth tones, adding a polished, cohesive look to the space.

I love it. It looks great in my home.
Side lamp
It wasn't screwed in tight , so when I went to screw it in the lamp ended up on the side instead of the front. I love it like that so much that I did the other one. Then I switched them around, and both sides is going towards the couch. Excellent. Why don't you try doing it like that and see if you don't like it or at least do one and give the customer the option.
