Amerie Blue 5' x 5' Round Rug

This rug is crafted from 100% polypropylene, a high-performance synthetic fiber specifically chosen for its exceptional durability. Based on our expertise with this material, polypropylene is highly resistant to stains and wear, making it an ideal solution for busy entryways or hallways where it will face constant foot traffic. Its machine-made construction ensures a consistent, tight weave that maintains its shape even under heavy use.

Yes, synthetic rugs like this one are highly recommended for families. Polypropylene fibers are non-porous, meaning they resist absorbing spills and odors, which is a major advantage for homes with pets. Additionally, the low-profile, machine-made pile is less likely to snag on pet claws compared to looped or high-pile alternatives. Our care guides suggest that these rugs are among the easiest to maintain in active households.

For daily maintenance, we recommend regular vacuuming to prevent dirt from settling into the fibers. Because polypropylene is naturally moisture-resistant, accidental spills can be easily spot-cleaned with a mild detergent and cool water. For a deeper refresh, this material is compatible with steam cleaning. To ensure the longevity of the rug and protect your flooring, we also suggest using a high-quality rug pad to prevent sliding and provide extra cushioning.

A round rug is a strategic design tool used to soften the hard lines and "boxy" feel of a square or rectangular room. The 5' diameter of this rug is particularly effective at creating a focal point in smaller spaces, such as a reading nook or a home office. By breaking up the linear flow of furniture, it adds a sense of movement and can make a compact room feel more open and organic.

This rug is exceptionally well-suited for humid environments or coastal homes. Unlike natural fibers like wool or jute, which can trap moisture and are susceptible to mold or mildew, 100% polypropylene is moisture-resistant and quick-drying. These properties, combined with its resistance to fading, ensure that the rug remains vibrant and structurally sound even in regions with high salt air or humidity.

A 5' round rug is a versatile size for defining specific "zones" within a home. It is ideally sized to anchor a small circular bistro table or to sit beneath a swivel chair in a nursery. In larger open-concept layouts, you can use it to create a transition between rooms or to highlight a foyer. To achieve a professional, balanced look, we recommend leaving about 18 inches of bare floor space between the rug's edge and the walls.
