This Cortinella chest arrived on time, well packaged, and with no damage. It took a while to uncrate it without damaging it… I’m a 60+ female, but could move it by gently scooting it a little way at a time. It is sturdy & beautifully crafted. I was worried, because of online reviews about other items arriving damaged and/or being cheaply made. This chest was well made & well packaged. It is a deep rich mahogany and has a slightly lighter shade of wood inlaid on the top, but that’s part of the design. If you’re 5’ 5” tall or less, then you won’t notice the top. The chest’s curved shape & detailed engraving give this masculine chest an elegant touch. The sturdy drawer handles mimic the engravings and have that clink sound when dropped into place reminiscent of my grandmother’s chest. In fact, this chest looks like a well-cared-for art nouveau antique. I never get tired of looking at it!
