Horrible item , horrible experience
Last month I bought several pieces of furniture at Rooms To Go. I spent close to $6,000 on furniture. Among the items I purchased was a La-Z-Boy Jasper IV Brown recliner. When it was delivered and I tried it, the recliner made a very annoying noise. The delivery man tried to see if he noticed anything wrong, but after a few seconds he told me, “I’ll put it in for a replacement.” After that, I started reading the reviews and saw that they were not good, so I decided I didn’t want that one anymore and that I wanted a different recliner. Since I didn’t want the same one, Rooms To Go told me I had to pay for the delivery, which I don’t understand because they had to pick up the old recliner anyway. After several phone calls with customer care, what they did was send me to the store to speak with the manager. The store where I bought the recliner was at 10623 NW 12 St., so I went there to talk to a manager. The manager who helped me is named Many. His explanation was that all recliners of that type make that noise, which is not true because I tried the one in the showroom and it did not make that sound. He said the delivery had to be paid because they were already losing money since I didn’t want the recliner due to the noise it made. It’s impossible that a store like Rooms To Go can sell an item of such poor quality and, on top of that, when you exchange it, make you pay for delivery again to replace the furniture after having spent $6,000. The response from Many and from customer care and the salesperson was horrible—all of them. All they care about is selling. They have no interest whatsoever in customer satisfaction or in helping make the experience pleasant. I’m leaving the video of the recliner’s noise here so you can see if you think that’s normal. I will never buy anything from Rooms To Go again.
