devon loft finish bedroom with nanton park gray bed

Yes, this 3-piece bed is designed to be used with a mattress and a foundation (or box spring), which are sold separately. Utilizing a proper foundation is critical for a king-sized frame to ensure even weight distribution and to prevent your mattress from sagging over time. Additionally, using a foundation allows you to customize the overall height of your sleep set to your personal preference.

In more humid environments, maintaining airflow is key to keeping upholstered furniture fresh. The tapered leg design of this bed provides essential clearance from the floor, allowing for better air circulation beneath the frame. While velvet is a dense material, our care guides recommend keeping the bedroom well-ventilated or using a dehumidifier in coastal areas to prevent the fabric from holding onto ambient moisture, ensuring the bed remains a comfortable, dry sanctuary.

Velvet is surprisingly resilient for pet owners. Because it is a cut-pile fabric without loose loops, it is much less likely to snag on cat or dog claws compared to woven fabrics like linen or tweed. While velvet can attract pet hair, its smooth surface allows for easy removal with a lint roller or a vacuum’s upholstery attachment. For a busy household, this plush material offers a sophisticated look that holds up well to daily interaction.

To keep the plush gray velvet looking its best, we recommend regular light maintenance. Our expertise suggests vacuuming the headboard and rails once a month with a soft-brush attachment to prevent dust from settling into the fibers. For accidental spills, spot clean immediately by blotting with a clean, damp cloth and a touch of mild soap. Always avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage the delicate sheen and texture of the velvet upholstery.

The wingback silhouette creates a sense of "enclosure" and architectural depth, making the bed a dramatic focal point for a master suite. The vertically tufted channels are a hallmark of mid-century modern design, drawing the eye upward to create the illusion of higher ceilings. Beyond aesthetics, the padded wingback design provides a comfortable, supportive backrest for those who enjoy reading or working on a laptop in bed.
