What is the difference between a coffee table and a cocktail table?
While these terms are often used interchangeably, a cocktail table like this one typically refers to a more formal centerpiece intended for social settings. While a coffee table is designed for everyday casual use, a cocktail table is traditionally styled for serving drinks and snacks when hosting guests.
What steps can I take to protect the wood surface from water rings or heat?
Because this table is built with wood materials, it is sensitive to moisture and heat. To maintain the integrity of the bold black finish, we highly recommend the consistent use of coasters for all beverages and decorative trays or trivets for any warm items. This protects the wood from permanent water rings and heat-induced warping or discoloration.
How should I clean and maintain the black wood finish on this table?
To preserve the rich black finish and the sculptural texture of the wood, our expertise suggests regular dusting with a soft, clean cloth. If a spill occurs, use a cloth lightly dampened with mild soap and water, then immediately buff the area dry with a separate soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical polishes or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish and dull the wood's handcrafted feel over time.
How do I determine if this rectangular cocktail table is the right size for my sofa?
To ensure a proportional layout, we recommend following the "2/3 rule," where the table is approximately two-thirds the length of your sofa. With a 50-inch width and 30-inch depth, this piece is well-suited for standard and large-scale sofas. For optimal comfort and accessibility, place the table 16 to 18 inches away from the sofa cushions to provide ample legroom while keeping the surface within easy reach.
Does this table require any assembly when it is delivered?
No, this piece does not require customer assembly. When you choose our full-service delivery, the table is delivered and placed in your home by our professional team, allowing you to enjoy the modern, sculptural design of your new centerpiece the moment it arrives.
Is this low-profile table suitable for a modern apartment or a smaller living space?
Yes, the 17-inch height and "no-legs" design create a sleek, low profile that aligns perfectly with modern minimalist and urban aesthetics. The rectangular shape anchors the room without the visual weight of a traditional leggy table, making it an excellent choice for smaller apartments where you want a substantial surface area that doesn't overwhelm the floor plan.
