Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.
Will this bed stand up well to the high-humidity levels often found in coastal homes?
Yes. Although named for the famous coastal destination, the Hilton Head bed is built with construction methods that accommodate natural environmental shifts. While all wood furniture can experience minor expansion in humid climates, the use of paneling and bead moulding provides a stable structure. For the best longevity in coastal or humid regions, we recommend maintaining a consistent indoor climate to protect your furniture's finish and structural stability.
How should I clean and maintain the gray wood finish?
To preserve the beauty of the gray finish, our expert care recommendations suggest regular dusting with a soft, dry cloth. For minor spills, a lightly dampened cloth with mild soap can be used. We advise against using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive polishes, as these can strip the protective topcoat and dull the casual vibe of the wood's finish over time.
How do the reversible rails work to adjust the bed height?
This bed features specialized reversible side rails that provide a dual-height setup. This innovative design allows you to install the rails in a higher or lower position, giving you the flexibility to raise your mattress for a more prominent "high-bed" look or lower it to accommodate extra-thick premium mattresses and foundations while maintaining a comfortable entry height.
Does this queen bed require a box spring or foundation?
Yes. As a classic panel bed, the Hilton Head queen bed is designed for use with both a mattress and a foundation (box spring), which are sold separately. Utilizing a sturdy foundation ensures the mattress is correctly supported to prevent sagging and maintains the structural integrity of the frame for long-term comfort.
What specific design details contribute to its "shutter look" and coastal style?
The Hilton Head bed achieves its relaxed, cottage-inspired aesthetic through architectural details like bead moulding and integrated shutter panels on both the headboard and footboard. These elements, combined with a decorator-friendly gray finish and elegant tapered legs, create an airy and serene focal point perfect for beach-inspired or casual transitional bedrooms.
Is this queen panel bed a good choice for a smaller bedroom or apartment?
While this queen bed makes a significant style statement, its dimensions of 90"L x 68"W x 64"H are scaled to fit most standard bedrooms. Its clean, coastal silhouette and tapered legs help maintain a sense of openness, which is ideal for preventing a smaller room from feeling overcrowded. We recommend allowing approximately 30 inches of clearance around the perimeter of the bed for optimal flow.

I called the store I called customer service and I still haven't had no one call back very disappointed not pleased at all
Quality good, service not so much...
The quality of the bed is good. My granddaughter loves it and is really enjoying it. The rub is that the salesman verified with me several times that it would be set up when it arrived. The delivery crew dropped it off at my daughter's house, an hour and twenty minutes from me, and said "we don't set it up, you didn't pay for that". I had to drop everything to go and put it together. Finally, RTG needs to ease up on the delivery confirmation contact, I responded to three emails and two phone calls to confirm. Seemed excessive. I confirmed, what more is needed after that?
