This clock is crafted with a real fir wood surface over a medium-density fiberboard (MDF) core. While MDF is specifically engineered to be more stable and resistant to warping than solid wood in varying temperatures, the fir wood face is a natural material. To ensure the longevity of the wood grain and the gray metal frame, we recommend placing this clock in a climate-controlled interior. In high-humidity areas, keeping the clock away from open windows or direct drafts will help preserve the integrity of the natural wood knots and prevent finish discoloration.

This clock operates on a single AA battery (sold separately). Based on the energy efficiency of modern quartz movements, a high-quality alkaline battery typically powers the clock for 12 to 24 months. To ensure the highest accuracy and protect the internal movement, we recommend replacing the battery annually or as soon as you notice the time beginning to lag.
