Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.

How much ceiling clearance is needed for this full-sized loft bed?

This bed stands at a height of 70.75 inches. For a child to sit up comfortably without hitting their head, we recommend a minimum of 33 to 36 inches of clearance between the top of the mattress and the ceiling. In a room with standard 8-foot (96-inch) ceilings, this provides approximately 25 inches of space before accounting for mattress thickness, making it better suited for rooms with 9-foot ceilings or for use with a low-profile mattress.

How durable is the metal frame and melamine finish for an active child’s room?

The frame is constructed from high-quality metal, offering a robust and stable structure that resists the wobbling often associated with lighter frames. The dark gray melamine finish is specifically chosen for its exceptional durability; it is highly resistant to scratches, moisture, and stains, making it an ideal choice for high-traffic kids' bedrooms and homework stations.

What type of mattress and foundation does this bed require?

This loft is designed to accommodate a standard full-sized mattress. To maximize the safety of the guardrails, we recommend using a low-profile mattress (typically 5-7 inches thick). A foundation or bunkie board is required to provide proper support for the mattress and is sold separately.

What is the recommended age for a child to use this loft bed?

Following safety guidelines established by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), loft beds are recommended for children six years of age and older. This ensures the child has the physical coordination and maturity to safely navigate the ladder and the elevated sleeping surface.

Is this loft bed suitable for a small bedroom or urban apartment?

This "room-in-a-box" design is specifically engineered for spatial optimization in compact living environments. By elevating a full-sized bed, it reclaims approximately 40 square feet of floor space that would otherwise be occupied by a traditional bed and desk. Its 80.4" width and 71.65" depth allow it to fit comfortably against a wall, making it a premier choice for maximizing utility in smaller suburban bedrooms or urban apartments.

What specific features are included in the integrated workstation?

Designed to be a complete study and storage solution, this loft features a built-in full-width desk and a dedicated corkboard for organizing notes or art projects. Additionally, it includes three sturdy wooden shelves, providing ample vertical storage for textbooks, trophies, or electronics without expanding the furniture's footprint.

Nothing short of a horrible experience.

Purchased On May 10, 2026

They gave us a loaner frame until it arrived the we were told that was the correct frame. It’s not and they didn’t even have the slats that are supposed to be to be with the bed. Now I guess when they come in “expedited” it will be on me to assemble it correctly. Very disappointed in RTG.

Ehhh

Nice bed but we had some major delivery problems. They damaged two of my doors. Some parts of the bed were damaged and they had to replace some pieces. It’s not as sturdy as I’d hoped. The salesman also told me this is made in North Carolina but the bed arrived with a huge “made in China” sticker. I would not have paid so much had I know that.
