Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.
Is the frame built from solid wood?
Yes, this bed is constructed with a pine frame and pine veneers. Solid pine is a preferred material for children’s furniture because of its natural durability and the structural integrity it provides for elevated sleep systems. The chestnut finish is applied over these veneers to offer a classic, dark-wood aesthetic that resists the wear and tear of a busy child’s room.
Does this bed require a traditional box spring or foundation?
This loft bed is designed specifically to be used with a bunkie board (sold separately) rather than a traditional box spring. Using a bunkie board provides the necessary flat, firm support for the mattress while maintaining a low profile. This is crucial for safety, as it ensures the mattress sits low enough for the guardrails to remain effective in preventing falls.
What is the recommended minimum age for a child to use this loft bed?
For safety, it is recommended that children be at least 6 years old before using the top bunk of a loft bed. This age guideline, supported by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), ensures that the child has the necessary coordination and maturity to navigate the ladder safely, especially during the night.
How much ceiling clearance is needed for this twin loft?
This bed has a total height of approximately 70 inches. To ensure your child can sit up comfortably without hitting their head, we recommend at least 33 to 36 inches of clearance between the top of the mattress and your ceiling. This typically requires a standard 9-foot ceiling for the best experience. Before setup, also ensure the bed is positioned away from ceiling fans or light fixtures.
Is this loft bed a good solution for a small bedroom or a city apartment?
This unit is an ideal space-saving solution for urban apartments or smaller suburban bedrooms where floor space is at a premium. By elevating the sleep surface, it utilizes vertical space and includes two integrated storage chests for clothes and toys. The "open" area beneath the frame can be transformed into a dedicated reading nook, a desk area for homework, or a play zone, effectively doubling the usable square footage of the room.
How much storage is included with this specific model?
This model is exceptionally functional, featuring two separate loft chests built directly into the lower structure. These chests provide a total of 12 drawers (six per chest), offering ample storage for a full wardrobe, accessories, or even heavy linens. By integrating the dresser functionality directly into the bed’s footprint, you can often eliminate the need for a separate, bulky dresser elsewhere in the room.

The kids love it
New Bunk Bed
My son loves his new bunk bed. Previously he had a toddler bed and there was a struggle to get him to consistently sleep in his room. When we purchased the bunk bed he was truly ecstatic and now he sleeps in his new bed faithfully! I'm so glad that we decided on rooms to go for their quality of furniture.
We bought two of these and we love them! They are sturdy and free up space in the room
Its a 3 star because the full bed is not that strong!
