Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.
Is the finish on this kids bed safe for a child’s bedroom?
Yes, safety is a primary focus of this design. The bed features a durable, non-toxic, and low-VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) finish. Choosing low-VOC furniture is an excellent way to help maintain better indoor air quality by reducing chemical off-gassing, providing a healthier environment for children to sleep and play.
What should I expect during the assembly of this wooden bed?
Customer assembly is required, and given the solid New Zealand pine construction, we recommend a two-person assembly for safety and ease of alignment. The design utilizes high-quality hardware and metal support bars to ensure a secure, long-lasting fit. To maintain the bed's integrity over time, our experts recommend a quick check and tightening of the bolts every few months to ensure the frame remains quiet and stable.
What mattress thickness is recommended for the top bunk and trundle?
For optimal safety, we recommend a mattress between 5 and 8 inches thick for the top bunk to ensure the 15-inch guardrails provide maximum protection. The under-bed trundle is designed to fit a standard twin mattress with a maximum thickness of 6 inches. Because this bed includes a complete slat roll system, no box spring or bunkie board is required for any of the sleeping surfaces.
Is this bunk bed suitable for rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings?
With an overall height of 63.25 inches, this bed is well-suited for standard 8-foot (96-inch) ceilings. This configuration leaves approximately 32 inches of space between the top of the bed frame and the ceiling, offering comfortable headroom for the occupant of the top bunk. Its white finish and vertical design make it a practical choice for maximizing sleep capacity in urban apartments or smaller suburban bedrooms.
What is the weight capacity for this twin over full bunk bed?
This bed is engineered for exceptional stability, featuring a 400-pound resting weight capacity for each sleeping surface. The frame is constructed from solid New Zealand pine wood and supported by a robust system of solid plywood slats and a metal support bar, making it sturdy enough to safely accommodate both children and adults.
How much floor space is required to use the trundle bed?
The trundle measures approximately 74.5"L x 40.75"W. To fully extend the trundle for use, you should have at least 42 inches of clear floor space along the side of the bed. This integrated trundle design is an ideal space-saving solution for shared bedrooms or hosting guests, as it provides a third sleeping area that can be tucked away when not in use.

Solid bunkbed choice
I’m very impressed by the quality of this bunkbed. It’s sturdier than expected and having the metal connector really gives it strength to the top and bottom beds. Assembly using a drill is key to success, as hand spinning all the bolts would have taken days. Overall way better than expected!
Misinformed
I ordered this a few ago and was told that someone from Rooms To Go would be coming over to assemble it since I was moving at the time. Now I'm being told that it's a self assembly. The movers who moved the couch in said that Rooms To Go does assemble but again being told they don't. To be honest I'm not impressed with the communication and don't know if I would be buying from Rooms To Go again.
Great Kids bunk
Not a good choice for a fatty like me but my grandkids love it.
