How durable are the drawers in the integrated chest?
The coordinating loft chest is engineered for long-term durability in active kids' rooms. The three drawers are built using French dovetail joints—a high-quality construction hallmark known for its exceptional strength and resistance to drawer-front separation. Additionally, the drawers utilize side-mounted, ball-bearing glides to ensure a smooth, quiet, and reliable opening and closing experience, even when filled with heavy clothing.
What is the recommended age for a low loft bed?
While standard safety guidelines from the CPSC generally recommend elevated beds for children aged 6 and older, this "low loft" design offers a more accessible entry point. Standing at just approximately 51 inches high, it keeps the sleeping surface significantly closer to the floor than a traditional high loft. This makes it an ideal transitional choice for younger children who are ready for an elevated bed but benefit from a lower, more reassuring height.
Does this loft bed require a box spring?
No, you should not use a traditional box spring with this bed. To maintain the safety of the integrated guardrails, this loft requires a bunkie board (sold separately). Using a slim bunkie board provides a sturdy, flat foundation for the twin mattress without adding excessive height, ensuring your child remains securely within the protective rails as per safety standards.
Can I update the look of the bed as my child gets older?
Yes. To ensure this bed stays relevant as your child's style evolves, it includes two complete sets of hardware with your purchase: sleek brushed nickel and sophisticated brushed gold knobs and pulls. This allows you to easily refresh the aesthetic of the slate blue finish without the need to invest in new furniture, extending the piece's lifespan from early childhood through the teen years.
Does Rooms To Go provide professional assembly for this loft bed?
When you select our full-service delivery, our professional team will handle the complete setup and assembly of the loft in your home. This is particularly important for elevated beds, as our experts ensure that the ladder, guardrails, and integrated chest are all securely fastened and level. Our professional assembly process is designed to maximize the structural stability of the frame and minimize the "wobble" often associated with home-assembled loft furniture.
Is this twin loft a good solution for small bedrooms or urban apartments?
Absolutely. This furniture is specifically designed to maximize vertical space in compact living environments. By nesting a full 3-drawer chest directly beneath the twin sleeping surface, you effectively combine a bed and a dresser into a single 81" x 48" footprint. This efficient use of square footage is a hallmark of smart urban design, freeing up floor space for a play area or a desk in smaller rooms.

Nice bed, two weeks in the panels the bed sits on broke
Bed is nice, pretty but the panels holding the mattress broke, they werent of the same quality as the other things
Love it!
This bed is perfect for my 7 year old! We got the full size and it's so cute and has a little "secret room" underneath she goes and reads books. It's seriously the cutest set up and it's more her age than regular beds.
