How much storage is included with this twin loft bed?
This storage-heavy loft bed is designed to maximize floor space in kids' bedrooms. It features two separate chests, each with three drawers, providing six total drawers for clothing or toys. Additionally, the staircase steps include built-in storage drawers, which are perfect for stashing books, shoes, or smaller items. To help the furniture grow with your child's style, we include both brushed nickel and brushed gold hardware with every purchase.
Is the staircase better than a ladder for a child's loft bed?
A step loft is often preferred for younger children or for those who want a more stable, secure way to access the top bunk. The wide, integrated steps provide a larger surface area for feet compared to traditional ladder rungs, making it easier for children to navigate. This specific model is a "low loft," standing at just over 50 inches high, which keeps the sleeping surface closer to the ground for added safety and easier bed-making for parents.
Does this loft bed require a box spring or special foundation?
Like most bunk and loft styles, this bed does not require a traditional box spring. However, to ensure proper mattress support and safety, a bunkie board is required (sold separately). A bunkie board provides a slim, low-profile foundation that supports the mattress without adding unnecessary height, keeping the child safely within the guardrail's protection.
Can the staircase be installed on either side of the bed frame?
Yes, this loft bed features a reversible staircase design. It can be affixed to either the left or right side of the bed, allowing you to customize the configuration based on your room's specific layout, window placements, or door locations. This flexibility makes it an ideal choice for varying room shapes and sizes.
What type of construction is used for the storage drawers?
The drawers in the coordinating loft chests are built for longevity and frequent use. They feature French dovetail joints on the drawer fronts, a time-tested technique known for its strength and resistance to being pulled apart. For a smooth, quiet operation, the drawers are equipped with side-mounted, ball-bearing glides, ensuring they open and close reliably over time.
Is this low loft bed a good choice for rooms with lower ceilings or smaller floor plans?
This loft bed is an excellent solution for urban homes or rooms with standard or low ceilings. At approximately 51 inches in height, it provides the space-saving benefits of a loft—clearing floor space for the included chests—without the imposing height of a full loft bed. With a footprint of roughly 103 inches wide by 43 inches deep, it condenses a twin bed, two dressers, and a staircase into a single, efficient area, making it ideal for maximizing square footage in smaller suburban bedrooms.

Nice bed, two weeks in the panels the bed sits on broke
Bed is nice, pretty but the panels holding the mattress broke, they werent of the same quality as the other things
Love it!
This bed is perfect for my 7 year old! We got the full size and it's so cute and has a little "secret room" underneath she goes and reads books. It's seriously the cutest set up and it's more her age than regular beds.
