Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.
Does this bed require a box spring or a separate foundation?
Because this is a storage bed, it is designed to provide substantial support for the mattress. Typically, storage beds do not require a traditional box spring, which can add unnecessary height and potentially obscure the decorative molding on the headboard. While a mattress can often be placed directly on the support system, you may use a low-profile bunkie board if your specific mattress manufacturer requires a solid surface for warranty purposes.
How do the storage drawers hold up to daily use?
The storage footboard is equipped with two drawers featuring front and back English dovetail construction. This traditional interlocking joinery is a hallmark of superior craftsmanship, providing a mechanical bond that prevents the drawer faces from pulling away over time. To ensure effortless access, the drawers operate on side-mounted, ball-bearing glides, which offer a smooth and quiet pathway even when the drawers are filled with heavy toys or bedding.
Is this bed a good choice for a small city apartment or a compact bedroom?
This storage bed is an ideal solution for urban living or smaller floor plans where maximizing every square inch is essential. By integrating two deep drawers into the footboard, it provides the storage capacity of a small chest without expanding the footprint of the bed (47.44"w x 80.75"d). This "two-in-one" functionality frees up valuable floor space for play or other essential furniture like a study desk.
How should I care for the gray finish to keep it looking new?
Based on our expertise with wood finishes, we recommend regular dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth to prevent buildup that can dull the classic gray finish. For minor spills, a slightly dampened cloth followed immediately by a dry one is sufficient. To preserve the wood's integrity, avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or furniture polishes that contain silicone, as these can affect the sheen and durability of the protective topcoat.
Is this bed durable enough for an active child?
This bed is constructed from solid poplar wood, a material chosen specifically for its resilience and long-term durability. Unlike furniture made from particleboard or lighter veneers, the solid wood frame is designed to withstand the daily wear and tear of a child's bedroom. The structural integrity is further enhanced by high-quality joinery, ensuring the bed remains stable and secure for years of use.
Can a parent sit on the bed comfortably for bedtime stories?
Yes. The combination of solid poplar wood and robust construction techniques makes this frame significantly sturdier than standard "flat-pack" furniture. This high-quality build is designed to handle the weight of both a child and a parent during evening routines. Additionally, the bun feet provide a wide, stable base that ensures the bed remains grounded and secure.

Wanted to love this more
Nice sturdy furniture. It goes very well in my kid’s bedroom. Rating is based on two things. 1. When I spoke to the salesman he stated that setup was included with the delivery. That was not the case and I had to put the crib together at 37 weeks pregnant. 2. The crib handles for the bottom dresser was missing and it’s been about 4 weeks since reaching out to get the parts . Finally I would not recommend the set with Winnie the Poor, in my opinion it’s not worth the price.
Be careful if you buy
Buy the room it’s lovely but be prepared to be DISMISSED with NO follow through by CUSTOMER CARE nor DELIVERY —as promised regarding faulty parts that couldn’t not be assembled. They have also changed the story changed after purchase regarding assembly. I’m not sure where the disconnect is but I was expecting the furniture to be delivered and assembled/placed in the room but my delivery was left in boxes all over the room. The furniture was well protected but not delivered or assembled. We knew we would have to assemble the crib which was emphasized to us several moments but the amount of trash and unboxing we were left with was not what we expected for the paid delivery service. The set is as we expected- beautiful and purchased just in time considering our newborn arrived early. But the follow through that was promised has not been timely, consistent or reliable.
Good product, but...
The furniture is very nice; however, Rooms To Go needs to be clear about assembly charges. Assembly should be provided for all products , especially baby furniture. Accepting a payment for baby furniture assembly should be refunded.
