Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.
Is this sofa suitable for coastal homes or salt-spray environments?
Yes, the combination of a rust-resistant aluminum frame and high-performance fabric makes this sofa an excellent selection for coastal climates. While many metals struggle with salt-air corrosion, aluminum is highly resilient. For homes near the ocean, we recommend periodically rinsing the frame and cushions with fresh water to prevent salt buildup, which helps preserve the finish and fabric longevity.
How should I clean the bisque-colored cushions to remove dirt or stains?
For general maintenance, our care guide recommends brushing off loose dirt and rinsing with a soft cloth or sponge using mild soap and lukewarm water. For more stubborn stains, the solution-dyed performance fabric allows for gentle scrubbing with a soft-bristle brush. Always rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue and allow the cushions to air dry completely to ensure the material stays fresh and mildew-resistant.
How many people can comfortably sit on this sofa, and will it fit a standard patio?
This sofa is designed as a 3-seater, featuring three plush seat cushions and a comfortable 83.5-inch width. Its contemporary track arms and breezy slat-back design provide an open, airy silhouette that doesn't overwhelm smaller spaces. Measuring approximately 7 feet in length, it is ideally scaled for mid-sized patios, decks, or sunrooms, providing ample seating while maintaining a streamlined footprint.
Why is an aluminum frame a good choice for this outdoor sofa?
This sofa features a rust-resistant aluminum frame with a durable powder-coated taupe finish. Aluminum is an industry standard for high-quality patio furniture because it is naturally rustproof, unlike steel or iron. This makes the frame exceptionally well-suited for humid or rainy environments, ensuring the structural integrity remains intact season after season without the risk of corrosion.
How do the cushions on this sofa resist fading from the sun?
The cushions are upholstered in high-performance, solution-dyed acrylic fabric. In solution-dyed materials, the color is integrated into the fibers during the manufacturing process rather than just applied to the surface. This creates a fabric that is highly resistant to UV-induced fading and moisture damage, ensuring the bisque-colored cushions retain their clean, neutral look even when placed in direct sunlight.
What maintenance is required for the teak accents on the arms?
The arms of this sofa are detailed with genuine teak accents, a premium wood known for its natural oils and exceptional resistance to rot and insects. While teak is incredibly durable, it will naturally transition to a sophisticated silver-gray patina over time. Based on our expertise with this material, we recommend a regular wipe-down with mild soap and water. If you prefer to maintain the original warm wood tone, a teak-specific sealer can be applied periodically.

Immediate mold issues
We purchased the Solana Sofa and the Loveseat for a covered, screened porch in Georgia. Within 11 days of delivery, the teak armrests developed significant mold growth—even though we were out of town for a week and the furniture had not been used. The furniture is marketed as suitable for humid climates, so this was extremely disappointing. We followed RTG's recommended 50/50 bleach cleaning method, but staining remained in the wood, and the mold keeps coming back with humidity. Customer service advised that this was normal "maintenance" that they were not liable for. Their only recommendation was to purchase teak maintenance products. I wish I had been told to do that in the first place. For the price of this furniture, I did not expect to be dealing with mold remediation less than two weeks after delivery. Buyers in humid climates should be aware that the wood components require immediate and ongoing maintenance.
