Surrey Ellis Brown Counter Height Panel Back Stool

Yes, this design prioritizes both comfort and ergonomic support for extended use. While backless stools are often used for quick seating, the sturdy panel back and upholstered seat cushion of this model provide the necessary support and softness for longer activities, such as family dining or working at a kitchen island.

This stool is finished with premium mango veneers, a material selected for its beautiful grain patterns and natural durability. The frame is built with mid-century modern design principles, including signature tapering on the legs and back posts, which provides a stable and sturdy foundation that is resistant to the warping common in lower-quality materials.

Based on our furniture care expertise, we recommend dusting the wood frame regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth to maintain the brown finish. For the upholstered fabric seat, blot any spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. If deep cleaning is necessary, our care guides recommend using a mild detergent mixed with warm water, ensuring you avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the veneer.

To ensure a comfortable fit, follow the industry-standard "10-12 inch rule," which recommends leaving a 10 to 12-inch gap between the top of the stool seat and the underside of your counter. This stool features a 24-inch seat height, making it specifically designed for counter-height surfaces that typically measure 36 inches from floor to top.

While the tapered legs are designed for stability and poise, we always recommend proactive floor protection for high-traffic kitchen areas. To safeguard investments like hardwood, laminate, or tile, our experts suggest applying stick-on felt pads or silicone glides to the bottom of the legs to prevent scuffs or scratches when the stool is moved.

This stool is an excellent choice for urban living and smaller floor plans. With a width of 19.25 inches, it offers a standard seating surface without a bulky footprint. The open panel back design is particularly effective in compact spaces as it allows for sightlines through the furniture, helping the room feel more expansive and less cluttered.
