How should I vacuum a rug with varying high and low pile heights?
To protect the delicate high-low textures, vacuum the full length of the rug in straight lines rather than using a back-and-forth motion. It is critical to use a vacuum without a beater bar or to set the bar to its highest pile setting on a low-suction mode. This prevents the rotating brush from pulling or damaging the undulating fibers, ensuring the rug retains its "work of art" appearance over time.
Why is a rug pad recommended for this rug on hardwood floors?
A rug pad is essential for both safety and floor preservation. On hard surfaces like oak or maple, a pad provides the necessary grip to prevent the rug from shifting or bunching. Beyond stability, a quality pad acts as a protective buffer, preventing the rug's backing from causing micro-scratches on your floor's finish while adding an extra layer of cushioned comfort underfoot.
What are the benefits of a power-loomed rug from Turkey?
This rug is power-loomed in Turkey, a region globally recognized for its centuries-old heritage in rug craftsmanship and modern textile innovation. The power-looming process ensures exceptional precision in the transitional design, allowing for the consistent varying pile heights that give the rug its signature 3D textured look. This manufacturing method results in a durable, high-quality piece that can withstand the rigors of a busy suburban household.
How do I properly clean spills on this textured rug?
To maintain the integrity of the undulating high-low pile, our care guidelines recommend blotting spills immediately with a clean, dry sponge or cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this can push liquids deeper into the textured fibers and cause matting. For thorough maintenance and to preserve the artistic design, professional cleaning is recommended periodically.
Is a 9' x 12' rug the right size for a living room with a sectional sofa?
A 9' x 12' rug is an ideal choice for larger living rooms and open-concept "great rooms." In professional interior design, a rug of this scale is often the minimum required to anchor a large U-shaped or L-shaped sectional. Following the "front legs" rule, you can tuck the rug 12 to 18 inches under the sofa to unify the seating area, or for a more luxurious look, the 12-foot width allows all furniture legs to rest comfortably on the rug, preventing a "floating furniture" appearance.
Does the gray and beige color palette work well for households with pets?
Yes, this rug is particularly well-suited for homes with pets. The sophisticated blend of gray, beige, and ivory creates a "heathered" effect that naturally camouflages pet hair and minor tracking between cleanings. Furthermore, the varying pile heights and undulating pattern provide a "Texture Appearance Retention" quality, helping the rug bounce back from foot traffic and hidden "zoomies" better than a flat-weave alternative.

Ugly rug
The rug is not like the one in the show room. In the show rm the colors were mostly beige and white. The one I received was mostly blue and gray. The rug doesn't match anything in my house. I talked to rooms to go and they basically told me I was stuck with that ugly rug. I'm very disappointed with rooms to go. I'm going to let my friends that rooms to go don't care about the customer, they only want to sell.
