Two of these bed boards are required to support a king bed.
Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.
How does the height of this board affect the look of my bed?
At just 1.5 inches tall, this bunkie board is designed to be nearly invisible once the bed is made. It is the perfect choice for minimalist or contemporary bed frames where you want to keep the mattress low to the ground. It provides the necessary lift and support without adding the significant height associated with a standard 9-inch box spring.
Why should I use a bunkie board instead of a traditional box spring for my mattress?
A bunkie board is an ideal solution for those who want to maintain a sleek, low-profile aesthetic without sacrificing support. Unlike a bulky box spring, this 1.5-inch board provides the rigid, flat surface required for modern memory foam, hybrid, and latex mattresses. This solid foundation helps prevent the mattress from sagging between bed slats, ensuring consistent comfort and a longer lifespan for your bed.
Will using this bed board help maintain my mattress warranty?
Most modern mattress manufacturers require a solid foundation or slats with very narrow spacing to keep the warranty valid. This bed board provides the necessary uniform support to prevent the indentations and structural damage that can occur on inadequate frames. By creating a stable, flat base, it helps ensure your mattress stays within the support guidelines required by most major brands.
How many of these boards do I need to support a king-size mattress?
To provide full coverage and proper structural integrity for a king-size mattress, two of these Twin XL bed boards are required. When placed side-by-side, they create a perfectly sized foundation that matches the dimensions of a standard king bed frame while offering the added benefit of being easier to handle during setup.
Is a split bunkie board design better for moving into an apartment or a house with narrow stairs?
Yes, the two-piece setup is highly recommended for urban living or homes with challenging layouts. Because two separate Twin XL boards are used to support a king mattress, they are significantly easier to maneuver through tight hallways, low ceilings, and narrow stairwells than a single, solid king foundation. This makes the delivery and assembly process much more manageable in smaller spaces.
Are these wooden bed boards prone to warping in humid coastal climates?
While extreme humidity can affect many wood products, professional-grade foundations like this one from Therapedic are designed for long-term stability. Unlike basic plywood from a hardware store, these boards are constructed to maintain their shape and structural integrity across various regional climates. To ensure maximum longevity in humid areas, we recommend ensuring your bed frame allows for proper underneath airflow.

Great.
It does what its suppose to do keep my mattress from seeping through the cracks of the bed frame great buy.
They worked out just fine. Thanks
The product is fine. What i didnt appreciate was the salesman Jeff. Dont ever see salesman Jeff or have a desire to speak to their managers. Why? Let me tell you why. When I was making my purchases,Jeff asked me to sign up for finance. I asked him if it was a credit card. So I look directly into his eyes and ask again, is this a credit card. He looks me into my eyes and says no it its not a CC. So I agreed to move forward only if it wasn't a cc. Days go by and I receive a letter in the mail. What do you know, a CC shows up. So I call and ask to speak to a manager. One manager gave me a runaround. Then proceeded to tell me I was stuck and had an obligation to the CC. which by the way I HAVE money. The money is NOT the issue. The issue is that Jeff lied to my face. When I spoke to Jeff and explained what happened, I asked him why did I receive a cc? He said it is NOT a cc. He continued to lie to me then have the audacity to say "we can sit here and argue all day".
