When the couch is not in a reclining position the backs of the couch do not line up. The right and left sections are about 3 inches further back than the middle section. Since the couch in my house does not sit against a wall it is very noticeable. I have reported the problem to the store I purchased the couch from but no fix has been made. Currently I would say the couch is an inferior product.
