Does this end table offer additional storage for living room essentials?
This specific table is designed with a minimalist, contemporary aesthetic and does not include drawers or lower shelves. This "no-storage" design emphasizes a clean, uncluttered look, making it an ideal choice for shoppers who prefer a sleek surface for a lamp or decorative accents without the bulk of a heavy cabinet-style side table. For a cohesive look throughout your room, it pairs seamlessly with other pieces in the Zandra collection that offer larger surface areas.
What are the advantages of choosing an end table with walnut veneers and a metal base?
This table features walnut veneers, which offer the rich, natural grain patterns of genuine wood while providing greater resistance to the warping and cracking that can occur with solid wood due to temperature and humidity changes. The structural foundation is a silver-finished metal base, designed in a striking X-shape for maximum stability and a sleek, modern aesthetic that is more durable and easier to maintain than traditional wooden legs.
How do I determine if this end table is the right height for my living room seating?
For optimal comfort and aesthetics, an end table should ideally sit within two inches of your sofa or chair's arm height. This table stands at 24.25 inches tall, making it a perfect match for most standard contemporary sofas, which typically have arm heights ranging from 24 to 26 inches. Choosing a table at this height ensures that drinks, remotes, and lamps are within easy reach while maintaining a balanced silhouette next to your furniture.
How does an octagonal shape benefit a living room layout compared to a traditional square table?
An octagonal end table offers a unique middle ground between the soft lines of a round table and the functional surface area of a square one. This geometric shape creates visual interest and can actually improve traffic flow in tighter seating arrangements by "cutting the corners," making it easier to move around the piece without bumping into sharp edges—a particularly helpful feature for active households or smaller rooms.
What is the best way to maintain the finish on this wood and metal side table?
To preserve the chic gray finish and the luster of the silver legs, our care experts recommend regular dusting with a soft, dry cloth. For minor spills or stains, use a cloth lightly dampened with mild soap and water, then dry the surface immediately. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads, as these can strip the walnut veneer's protective finish and dull the metallic shine of the base.
Is this side table a good choice for a smaller or narrow urban apartment?
Yes, this end table is exceptionally well-suited for urban apartment living where space and light are at a premium. Its 24-inch by 26-inch footprint is compact enough for narrow layouts, while the open, X-shaped metal base provides "visual transparency." This design allows light to pass through the lower half of the table, preventing the room from feeling cluttered or boxed-in, which is essential for maintaining an airy feel in smaller living areas.

Really disappointed
I ordered two of these. The base of one of them looks twisted. On both, the legs do not properly meet the table top leaving gaps between the legs and tables. A tech is coming out today to look at them. Personally, I don't want these now and would rather exchange for something else.
