Rooms To Go Partners with Tampa General Hospital for Patient Transplant House Reopening

Bringing Comfort to Transplant Patients and Families in Tampa.

    April 2025

Rooms To Go is honored to support the recent renovation and reopening of Tampa General Hospital's (TGH) Transplant Houses on Davis Islands, which provide free lodging for transplant patients and their caregivers traveling long distances for life-saving treatment.

Rooms To Go is proud to support the renewal of the Bayshore, Harbourview, and Gulfview transplant homes alongside dedicated community partners. Each of these residences now offers a refreshed, inviting atmosphere designed to promote healing and comfort for patients recovering from organ transplants. Our donation of stylish, high-quality furnishings was carefully curated to enhance both the beauty and functionality of these vital homes - helping to create a true sense of home when it's needed most.

"At Rooms To Go, we believe that a supportive, peaceful living space can play an important role in the healing process," said Jeffrey Seaman, CEO of Rooms To Go. "We're proud to have contributed to this effort and to support TGH's mission of providing exceptional care inside and outside the hospital."

Since their opening in 2019, the TGH Transplant Houses have served over 300 patients and their families, offering free, temporary housing just minutes from the main hospital. These homes are a vital part of TGH's nationally recognized transplant program, which performed more than 600 transplants last year alone.

"Thanks to the support of generous donors like Rooms To Go, we've been able to continue providing this critical resource for patients receiving transplant care at TGH," said Kelly Cullen, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Tampa General Hospital. "These homes reflect our commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care."

The homes now include updated furniture, modern décor, and thoughtful touches designed to make guests feel at home during a challenging time in their medical journey. Rooms To Go is proud to be part of a project that brings comfort and dignity to patients and their loved ones when they need it most.
