Hollow Place Natural Lamp

The hemp wrapping and natural beige palette are perfect for coastal, nautical, or transitional decors often found in seaside environments. However, natural fibers like hemp are sensitive to extreme humidity. For homes in coastal regions, we recommend placing this lamp in a climate-controlled room to ensure the fibers remain taut and the stylized metal frame stays protected from salt air exposure.

Stability is a primary design factor for a lamp of this height. This fixture features a weighted pedestal base to provide a lower center of gravity, making it more resistant to tipping than tripod or thin-pole designs. Given its 34-inch height, we recommend placing it toward the center of a sturdy table rather than near the edge to ensure maximum safety in active households.

This lamp is a "statement piece" that stands taller than the average 24-to-28-inch table lamp. While it can be used on a bedside table, it is best suited for larger master suites or living room end tables. To ensure the most comfortable experience, we recommend placing it on a surface where the bottom of the drum shade sits at approximately eye level when you are seated, which prevents glare and optimizes light distribution for reading.

Because of the textured nature of the natural hemp wrapping, we recommend regular dusting with a soft-bristled vacuum attachment or a canned air duster to reach between the fibers. For the beige fabric drum shade, a simple lint roller is highly effective at removing dust or pet hair. Based on our material care expertise, you should avoid liquid cleaners on the hemp, as moisture can cause natural fibers to expand or discolor over time.

The beige fabric drum shade acts as a natural diffuser, softening the light from the bulb to create a warm, inviting ambient glow. Because the drum shape is open at both the top and the bottom, it provides excellent "up-lighting" to highlight your ceiling and "down-lighting" for tasks, making it an ideal choice for a foyer or a formal living area where layered lighting is desired.

"Faux bois" is a French term meaning "false wood." In this design, the base is crafted to mimic the organic texture and appearance of real wood grain but is applied over a sturdy foundation. This provides the aesthetic warmth of natural timber with the added benefit of increased resistance to warping or cracking, which can sometimes occur with solid wood in changing home temperatures.
