Kingsdown Queen High Profile Foundation

While they may look similar, this foundation provides a much sturdier, rigid base than a traditional box spring, which typically has more "give." This solid support is essential for modern hybrid, memory foam, and innerspring mattresses, as it helps maintain the mattress's structural integrity and can prevent the sagging that often voids manufacturer warranties.

Absolutely. This foundation is specifically designed to handle the increased weight of premium, multi-layered mattresses. The combination of heat-treated Canadian Spruce and wider, closely-spaced slats provides a heavy-duty support system that far exceeds the capacity of standard foundations, making it ideal for high-end sleep systems and couples.

This foundation is engineered for superior support by using wooden slats that are cut a full inch wider than the industry standard. Furthermore, the slats are placed more closely together to create a more consistent, flat surface. This high-density slat arrangement ensures that every square inch of your mattress is properly supported, significantly extending its lifespan.

We utilize sustainably sourced Canadian Spruce because of its exceptional durability and natural strength. The wood undergoes a meticulous kiln-drying and heat-treatment process to remove moisture, which is a critical step in high-quality furniture manufacturing. This process prevents the wood from warping, cracking, or shrinking over time, ensuring the foundation remains silent and stable for years to come.

Yes, this foundation is an excellent choice for urban dwellers. It arrives meticulously hand-assembled by experts, meaning you won't have to worry about complicated setup in a cramped space. However, because it is a solid Queen-sized piece (60"w x 80"l), we recommend measuring your doorways and stairwells beforehand to ensure it can be moved into your bedroom with ease.

This is a "high profile" foundation with a height of 9 inches. When paired with a standard mattress, it provides a traditional bed height that many find aesthetically pleasing and easier for getting in and out of bed. If you prefer a lower overall profile or have a very thick mattress, you may want to measure your total desired height to ensure this 9-inch base meets your lifestyle needs.
