Mentmore Trace Light Gray 5'1 x 7'6 Rug

To keep your rug looking its best, we recommend vacuuming regularly to prevent dirt from settling into the fibers. Because polypropylene is naturally non-absorbent, it is resistant to staining and can be spot-cleaned effectively with a mild detergent and cool water. However, since jute is a natural fiber sensitive to excess moisture, our care guide emphasizes blotting spills immediately with a dry, clean cloth rather than saturating the material, which helps preserve the rug's backing and texture.

A 5'1" x 7'6" rug is a versatile mid-size option ideal for grounding smaller seating areas or defining zones in an open-concept space. For a cohesive look, we recommend placing the rug under your coffee table with the front legs of your sofa and accent chairs resting on the edges. To maintain a sense of proportion, our experts suggest following the "18-inch rule," which leaves about 18 inches of visible floor between the rug’s border and the walls of the room.

This rug is engineered for durability, featuring a power-loomed blend of 90% polypropylene and 10% jute. Polypropylene is a high-performance synthetic fiber known for its exceptional resilience and ability to withstand heavy foot traffic without crushing or thinning. The jute integration provides natural structural integrity and a sturdy backing, ensuring the rug retains its shape over years of use in busy areas like entryways or family rooms.

Polypropylene is an excellent material choice for humid regions because it is naturally resistant to mold and mildew and does not absorb moisture like natural wool. While the jute backing adds a traditional touch, the high percentage of synthetic fibers ensures the rug remains quick-drying and resilient against the dampness often found in coastal or southern climates, providing a durable solution that stays fresh season after season.

Yes, this rug is specifically well-suited for active households. The polypropylene fibers are inherently stain-resistant and easy to sanitize, making it a practical choice for potential spills or pet accidents. Furthermore, the low-profile, power-loomed construction is less prone to snagging claws than high-pile or shag alternatives, and pet hair typically sits on the surface where it can be easily removed with a standard vacuum.

Featuring traditional medallions and floral vines in blue shades against a cream-colored background, this rug serves as a sophisticated focal point. The lighter cream tones reflect more light, which can help a smaller room feel more open and airy. If you have neutral furniture in shades of gray or beige, the blue accents offer a refined pop of color that adds depth and personality to your decor without being visually overwhelming.
