Placida Sand 7'10 x 9'10 Indoor/Outdoor Rug

Polypropylene is an industry-standard synthetic fiber specifically engineered for its high durability and weather-resistant properties. Because it is non-absorbent, it naturally resists stains and prevents the growth of mold and mildew. Our expertise in textile selection suggests that 100% polypropylene rugs offer the best balance of longevity and ease of maintenance, making them ideal for areas exposed to the elements.

Maintenance for this rug is remarkably simple. For regular care, our guides recommend shaking it out or vacuuming to remove surface debris. After rain or for more significant spills, you can simply hose the rug off with water and a mild detergent. Because the polypropylene fibers are quick-drying, the rug should be left to dry fully in the sun to maintain its integrity and prevent moisture from being trapped underneath.

This rug is particularly well-suited for humid or coastal climates. Unlike natural fiber rugs (such as jute or sisal) which can absorb moisture and become prone to rot, the synthetic polypropylene construction is entirely moisture-resistant. This ensures the rug stays fresh and structural even in damp environments where afternoon rain showers and high humidity are frequent.

Absolutely. While designed for the outdoors, these rugs are an excellent choice for high-traffic indoor zones like entryways, mudrooms, or under dining tables. The tight weave of the polypropylene is resistant to snags from pet claws and is sturdy enough to withstand heavy foot traffic while remaining easy to spot-clean, providing a practical yet stylish solution for busy households.

The 7'10" x 9'10" dimensions are ideal for grounding a primary seating or dining zone. For a cohesive look, we recommend placing this rug under a standard six-piece patio dining set or a full-sized outdoor sectional. Ideally, the rug should extend at least 12 to 24 inches beyond the furniture's edges to anchor the space and define the area as a dedicated outdoor room.

The fibers in this rug are UV-stabilized to help protect the color and pattern against the bleaching effects of direct sunlight. While all textiles eventually show some wear with years of exposure, polypropylene is highly fade-resistant, ensuring the sand and coral coastal design remains vibrant and crisp on open-air patios and decks throughout the seasons.
