Question 1

Is a Split California King mattress easier to navigate through narrow staircases and hallways than a standard mattress?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Moving a solid, one-piece California King mattress through tight stairwells, low doorways, or apartment elevators can be difficult due to its 72-inch width and 14.5-inch thickness. Because a split setup divides the bed into two separate 36-inch-wide sections, it is significantly easier to maneuver around tight corners and into upstairs bedrooms.

Question 2

How does this hybrid mattress eliminate motion transfer for partners with different sleep schedules?

Accepted Answer

Because the Split California King configuration uses two physically separate mattress units, movement does not travel from one side of the bed to the other. Within each mattress, exclusive IntelliCoil innersprings adapt independently to localized pressure, while contouring TEMPUR-Indulge memory foam absorbs surface motion so getting in or out of bed will not disturb a sleeping partner.

Question 3

What are the exact dimensions of a Split California King mattress, and how does it differ from a standard Split King?

Accepted Answer

Each half of this Split California King mattress measures 36 inches wide, 83 inches long, and 14.5 inches high. When placed side by side, the two halves form a complete 72-inch by 83-inch sleep surface. Unlike a standard Split King—which consists of two 38-inch by 80-inch Twin XL mattresses—a Split California King is narrower and longer, offering extra legroom that is ideal for taller individuals.

Question 4

How does this mattress regulate temperature for hot sleepers?

Accepted Answer

This mattress uses a multi-layered cooling design to maintain airflow and dissipate excess body heat. The exterior is wrapped in a TrioTemp Cooling Cover that blends moisture-wicking TENCEL fibers, cool-to-the-touch yarns, and heat-diffusing materials. Built-in exterior air vents allow warm air to escape from the internal coil structure, promoting continuous ventilation all night.

Question 5

What size sheets and bedding are needed for a Split California King mattress?

Accepted Answer

This setup requires two separate Split California King fitted sheets (designed for 36-inch by 83-to-84-inch mattresses) with deep pockets to properly fit the 14.5-inch mattress profile. You can complete the bed with a standard California King flat sheet, blanket, or comforter to maintain a cohesive look across both sides.

Question 6

What type of edge support does this mattress provide along the perimeter and center seam?

Accepted Answer

This mattress features PrecisionEdge support, a heavy-duty border system engineered around the entire perimeter of each mattress half. This reinforces the seating edge, prevents rollout, and ensures structural firmness and support where the two split halves meet in the center.
