Question 1

What are the exact dimensions of this split California king mattress, and what bedding is required?

Accepted Answer

Each half of this split California king mattress measures 36 inches wide, 83 inches long, and 17 inches high. Placed side-by-side, the two pieces create a standard 72-inch wide by 83-inch long California king footprint. Due to the substantial 17-inch profile, you will need two split California king fitted sheets with extra-deep pockets (rated for up to 18 inches) to ensure a secure fit on each side. A standard California king flat sheet, duvet, or comforter can be used across the top for a unified look.

Question 2

How does the cooling technology work for hot sleepers?

Accepted Answer

The mattress incorporates a multi-layer temperature management system starting at the surface. It features a TrioTemp Cooling Cover crafted from breathable TENCEL fibers, cool-to-the-touch yarns, and heat-diffusing materials that pull excess warmth away from the body upon contact. Beneath the comfort layers, built-in external air vents promote continuous cross-ventilation through the open IntelliCoil HD innerspring system, releasing trapped heat throughout the night.

Question 3

How does this mattress isolate motion and reduce disruptions between sleep partners?

Accepted Answer

A split configuration provides superior motion isolation because the sleep surfaces are physically decoupled into two separate units. Movement from one partner getting in and out of bed or shifting positions cannot physically transfer through the coils to the other side. Within each mattress half, IntelliCoil HD innersprings and contouring TEMPUR-Indulge memory foam work together to pinpoint body pressure and absorb localized movement right at the source.

Question 4

How does the edge support perform around the perimeter and center seam?

Accepted Answer

The mattress is engineered with PrecisionEdge reinforcement, a high-density border running along the full perimeter of each half. This structural edge creates a firm, stable boundary that resists sagging when sitting on the edge of the bed and prevents a roll-off feeling near the center divide. In addition, artisan hand-tufting locks the internal upholstery and spring layers securely together, preserving the structural integrity and shape of each edge over time.

Question 5

What type of bed frame or base is required for this split mattress?

Accepted Answer

This mattress is designed to pair seamlessly with two split California king adjustable power bases, allowing each sleeper to independently customize their head and foot elevation. If you prefer a stationary setup, it can also be supported by two split California king flat foundations or a sturdy platform frame equipped with a rigid center support beam.

Question 6

Is a split California king mattress easier to maneuver through narrow hallways and staircases?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A traditional one-piece California king mattress can be difficult to move through tight hallways, low doorways, or multi-story staircases due to its rigid frame and 72-inch width. Because this split model is divided into two separate 36-inch-wide units, it is significantly easier to transport, pivot around tight corners, and set up in second-floor bedrooms or urban apartment spaces.
