Question 1

What are the exact dimensions of this California King mattress compared to a standard King?

Accepted Answer

This California King mattress measures 72 inches wide by 83.5 inches deep with a 13-inch height profile. By comparison, a standard King mattress is wider and shorter, measuring 76 inches wide by 80 inches long. The additional length of a California King provides extra legroom, making it an ideal choice for taller individuals—particularly sleepers 6'2" and over—or for households where pets sleep at the foot of the bed.

Question 2

How well does this mattress isolate motion for couples sharing a bed?

Accepted Answer

This mattress delivers advanced motion separation through 800 Series Beautyrest Pocketed Coil Technology. Because each coil is individually wrapped and flexes independently, movement on one side of the bed does not transfer across the sleeping surface. The upper layers of Beautyrest Gel Memory Foam and Plushform HD Foam further absorb localized movement, ensuring you and your partner remain undisturbed throughout the night.

Question 3

What type of sheets and foundation are needed for this 13-inch mattress?

Accepted Answer

This mattress requires a dedicated California King frame, platform base, or foundation (72 inches wide by 84 inches long). With its 13-inch overall profile, it is best paired with California King deep-pocket fitted sheets—typically designed for mattresses up to 14 to 16 inches deep—to ensure a secure, slip-free fit over the ContourFit top surface.

Question 4

What level of pressure relief and back support does the hybrid design provide?

Accepted Answer

The mattress utilizes ContourFit Design, a hybrid construction that allows you to rest directly against the specialty foam comfort layers for seamless pressure relief. The Beautyrest Gel Memory Foam and high-density Plushform HD Foam conform to your body's curves to cushion key pressure points at the shoulders and hips, while the underlying 800 Series Pocketed Coils adapt individually to support natural spinal alignment.

Question 5

How does this hybrid mattress keep hot sleepers cool during the night?

Accepted Answer

This hybrid mattress combines breathable materials with gel-infused foams to regulate sleep temperature. It features GelTouch Foam designed to enhance airflow, paired with Beautyrest Gel Memory Foam and high-density Plushform HD Foam that help dissipate body heat. Below the comfort layers, the pocketed coil system naturally promotes continuous internal air circulation, preventing heat buildup across the mattress.

Question 6

What size bedroom is recommended to comfortably fit a California King mattress?

Accepted Answer

To comfortably accommodate this 72-inch wide by 83.5-inch long mattress, a bedroom measuring at least 12 feet by 12 feet (or ideally 12 feet by 14 feet) is recommended. This layout ensures at least 2 to 3 feet of walkable clearance around the perimeter of the bed, leaving ample room for nightstands, dressers, and walking pathways without making the space feel cramped.
