Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.

How much floor space is required to fully utilize the trundle?

To comfortably use the trundle, you will need approximately 41 inches of clear floor space next to the bed. The trundle measures 74.5"L x 40.75"W, so we suggest placing the bed in a layout that allows for this extension while still leaving a walkway for nighttime safety.

What is the maximum weight capacity for each sleeping surface?

This bed is engineered to be exceptionally robust, featuring a resting weight capacity of 400 pounds per sleeping surface. This high capacity ensures the bed can safely accommodate everyone from growing toddlers to adults, making it a versatile long-term investment for your home.

What is the best way to clean and maintain the white finish?

To preserve the beautiful white finish, our care guidelines recommend dusting the frame regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For minor spills or stains, use a cloth dampened with mild soap and water. We advise against using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads, as these can damage the non-toxic finish and the natural grain of the New Zealand pine wood.

Is this bunk bed suitable for an apartment or a room with standard ceiling heights?

With a total height of 63.25 inches, this bed is an excellent space-saving solution for urban apartments or homes with standard 8-foot ceilings. To ensure the sleeper on the top bunk has comfortable headspace, we recommend a minimum of 30 to 36 inches of clearance between the top of the mattress and the ceiling. Its vertical design maximizes floor space, which is especially beneficial in smaller bedrooms.

Does this bed require a box spring or bunkie board?

No box spring or bunkie board is required for this model. This bed includes a complete slat roll system for the top bunk, bottom bunk, and trundle. These solid plywood slats provide a firm, breathable foundation for your mattresses, simplifying setup and reducing the overall height of the sleep surfaces.

What mattress thickness is recommended for the top bunk and the trundle?

Safety is our priority. For the top bunk, we recommend a twin-size mattress between 5 and 8 inches thick to ensure the 15-inch safety guardrails provide maximum protection. The pull-out trundle is designed to accommodate a standard low-profile twin mattress up to 6 inches thick, allowing it to slide easily underneath the bottom bunk when not in use.

Is this solid wood bed a safe and durable choice for active children?

Yes. This bed is constructed from solid New Zealand pine wood, a material specifically chosen for its durability and natural strength. It features a non-toxic, low-VOC finish, making it a safe choice for children’s environments. For added structural integrity, the sleeping surfaces are supported by solid plywood slats and a metal support bar, ensuring the frame remains stable and squeak-free even with daily use.

Solid bunkbed choice

Purchased On Oct 5, 2024

I’m very impressed by the quality of this bunkbed. It’s sturdier than expected and having the metal connector really gives it strength to the top and bottom beds. Assembly using a drill is key to success, as hand spinning all the bolts would have taken days. Overall way better than expected!

Misinformed

Purchased On Sep 19, 2024

I ordered this a few ago and was told that someone from Rooms To Go would be coming over to assemble it since I was moving at the time. Now I'm being told that it's a self assembly. The movers who moved the couch in said that Rooms To Go does assemble but again being told they don't. To be honest I'm not impressed with the communication and don't know if I would be buying from Rooms To Go again.
