Q&A answers generated with AI assistance.
Does this furniture require assembly upon delivery?
Yes, customer assembly is required for this specific item. Based on our standard assembly guidelines, this typically involves attaching the legs to the tabletop. When choosing our Full Service Delivery, please note that while many items are set up by the team, some dining tables are categorized as "assembly required" and will be delivered to the room of your choice for you to complete the final setup.
Can this dining table double as a functional workspace for working from home?
Yes, the 72-inch by 36-inch surface provides a generous "WFH crossover" area. The 36-inch depth offers plenty of room to accommodate a laptop and an external monitor while still leaving space for notebooks or a coffee mug. Additionally, the straight-leg base design ensures there are no pedestal obstructions, providing maximum legroom for an ergonomic seated position during long work sessions.
How does this solid wood table perform in humid coastal climates like Florida or the Gulf Coast?
Solid wood is a living material that can react to significant changes in humidity. In high-humidity environments, it is important to maintain a consistent indoor temperature to prevent the wood from expanding or warping. Because this piece is crafted from responsibly harvested solid pine, it retains natural structural integrity, but we recommend placing it away from direct air conditioning vents or humid entryways to ensure long-term stability.
How much room is needed to comfortably fit this 72-inch dining table in a home?
To ensure a comfortable flow for guests, we recommend following the "Clearance Rule" of leaving at least 36 to 48 inches between the edge of the table and the nearest wall or piece of furniture. Since this table measures 72 inches in length, a dining area approximately 12 to 13 feet long will provide ample space for chairs to pull out easily while maintaining a clear walkway.
Is solid pine wood a durable choice for a high-traffic family kitchen?
This table is constructed from solid pine wood, which offers the significant advantage of being a sturdy, natural material that can be refinished if needed. While pine is a softwood—meaning it has a lower Janka hardness rating than hardwoods like oak—its "rustic" and distressed finish is intentionally designed to hide the minor dings and scratches that naturally occur in a busy household, actually enhancing its farmhouse character over time.
Does the "straight leg" base design offer any advantages over a pedestal base?
The straight-leg configuration on this 72-inch table provides superior structural stability, particularly for larger gatherings. By placing the legs at the corners, the design creates a wide, open footprint that offers maximum "clearance" for guest legroom. This setup is ideal for those who prefer individual dining chairs, as it allows chairs to be tucked fully under the table when not in use, saving valuable floor space in smaller dining rooms.
What is the best way to maintain the gray finish and black painted legs?
To preserve the distressed gray top and painted black legs, our care experts recommend regular dusting with a soft, dry cloth. For spills, use a damp cloth with mild soap and water, immediately followed by a dry cloth to prevent moisture from sitting on the wood. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive polishes, as these can strip the protective finish and damage the painted surface of the legs.

Looks nice but lacking in quality
I loved the looks of this table online but the reality is that while it was fairly easy to put together and is a good size it is very rustic and uneven on the top. The top is in 3 pieces and they don’t fit together perfectly leaving an uneven top with differences as much as 1/4 to 1/2 inch. The table does look nice but the finish is not something that washes all that well and you have to be careful what you use on it as there are many imperfections that will catch on your cloth.
Lesson Learned don’t buy online furniture, or at least not from RTG!
Cheaply Made, not balanced even after including a rug under it and trust me it’s not our floor. Tried reaching out to customer service to have it returned but as it turns out because it was delivered, even though I called them to cancel the table because I was out of town. They said they could not stop the delivery. It’s not worth the $420! Should have gotten one on Amazon for a third of the price and somehow always better quality. Lesson learned.
Terrible Table
Terrible table. It arrived broken, wood was warped and the top required 3 parts to come together which meant the top would never be even. Table was returned for a refund.
