Recently the manager at rooms to go helped me out with my warranty and so I wanted to try my best to find my next mattress there. I told the first salesman that I was just pre shopping so my wife didn't need to do so much. With that he lost interest, took me to one of the cheapest mattresses, said I might like that one and that he'd let me look around. Never saw him again except when I crossed paths while walking around. So a few days later I came back with my wife and didn't specify I had a salesman, because I didn't yet. The couple mattresses we were interested in buying weren't on the floor. We found one that rated very well on the Internet and we told her we wanted to spend a few minutes on it. I had told her various times that my budget was 2000. She kept steering is to 3600 mattresses. She kept saying same brand to get a feel for how the brand feels. I told her there's no way a 2k would feel like the 3600. Secondly, I'm interested in this one on the floor within budget. She went and brought specs from another, over 3k, to compare to the one i had interest in, and then more than once suggested other beds over 3k. I'm not sure why she wouldn't sell me the one that I found that was originally 3k+ to within my budget, but I finally left. I was close a few times to saying I wanted to buy it, told her I'm interested in it, and wanted some time. But she kept immediately wanting to show me another. Never got the time. Left. Was it greed? Was she trying to protect me from a bad mattress? Never will know. But I left frustrated and found my originally requested mattress elsewhere shortly after. Gave 3 stars because the manager had previously helped after the sale. That was nice.
