During the purchase, Allen specifically told me that my order would include two pieces—the tabletop and the base. He even told me that I would be able to pick up both pieces using my sedan, so I had absolutely no reason to believe I was purchasing only a tabletop. I waited almost two months for my order. When I finally came in to pick it up, I was shocked when Allen told me that I had only paid for the tabletop and not the base. This was completely different from what he had explained to me when he made the sale. What upset me most was the change in the story. If I had been told from the beginning that the advertised price was only for the tabletop and that I would have to purchase the base separately, I could have made an informed decision. Instead, I waited nearly two months believing I had purchased a complete table. I felt misled and deceived by this sales experience. Customers should not have to find out at pickup that what they were promised verbally is different from what they are actually receiving. My advice to anyone shopping at this location: be very careful. Get every detail in writing, check the item numbers on your receipt, and make sure the receipt clearly lists every component you expect to receive before you pay or leave the store. Do not rely solely on verbal promises from a salesperson. I hope Rooms To Go management looks into what happened and takes customer complaints like this seriously.
