I was genuinely excited to bring my cousin to your store to shop for his apartment, especially since I’ve had a great experience in the past and truly love the couch I previously purchased. During our visit, we were warmly greeted by Deborah at the front of the store, who provided excellent customer service from the moment we walked in. I shared with her that I was interested in purchasing a replacement pillow for my couch after it was damaged while cleaning. Deborah attempted to locate my purchase using my phone number but was unsuccessful. She then involved the manager on duty, who also attempted to locate my order using my name and phone number, but was unsuccessful as well. As I began asking about alternative ways to locate my purchase, such as using my email or delivery address, I noticed a shift in tone from the manager. During the interaction, he became progressively frustrated and stated that I was being “hostile.” I want to be very clear that at no point did I raise my voice, use profanity, or behave inappropriately. Expressing confusion and dissatisfaction with a system should not be mischaracterized as hostility. I found this response both unprofessional and disappointing. As a customer, I reserve the right to ask questions and seek clarity, especially when I am actively trying to resolve an issue. If there was any concern, a more appropriate approach would have been to use de-escalation techniques and focus on resolution rather than making assumptions about my behavior. Despite this negative experience, I would like to sincerely thank Deborah for her professionalism, kindness, and willingness to help. She made a strong, positive impression and exemplified the level of service customers should expect.
