I haven’t left a negative review before but I feel other customers should be aware of my experience. While visiting family in Orlando, I purchased a sectional from the Rooms To Go on Alafaya Trail because the salesperson, Shawn, and his manager, on staff that day agreed to honor the Memorial Day sale price, even though it was about six days after the sale had ended. The Memorial Day pricing (about a $300 savings) was the reason I decided to buy the sectional in Florida instead of waiting until I returned home to North Carolina. Before purchasing, I explained that I still needed to measure my living room once I got home and that the chaise might not fit. Shawn assured me that removing the chaise before delivery would “not be a problem.” After I measured, I contacted him, and he removed it exactly as discussed. Between the day I purchased the sectional and the day the order was modified, Shawn and I exchanged multiple text messages regarding my order, delivery, and the removal of the chaise. Not once in any of those conversations did he tell me that modifying my order would cause me to lose the Memorial Day sale pricing. If that had been mentioned at any point, I would have made a different decision. Three weeks after delivery, I discovered I had been charged the regular price. When I called Shawn, he suddenly told me that removing the chaise meant I no longer qualified for the sale price. This was the first time I had ever heard that changing my order would affect the pricing. I spoke with the store manager, Abdul, who acknowledged reviewing our text messages and admitted I had not been properly informed. Despite that, the store still refused to honor the price I was promised. I feel this was a bait-and-switch. I was encouraged to purchase immediately based on the Memorial Day pricing, knowing there was a possibility I would need to remove the chaise after measuring my room. The salesperson never disclosed that doing so would void the discount, even though we communicated multiple times by text before the order was finalized. Had I been told that modifying the order would eliminate the sale pricing, I simply would have waited until I measured my room before making the purchase. I’m asking Rooms To Go corporate to review the text message history between Shawn and me and honor the original Memorial Day sale price they promised. A $300 adjustment would resolve this issue and demonstrate that the company stands behind the commitments made by its sales staff.

My wife and I visited this store last Friday to shop for two recliners. Sales Associate, Shawn Bouler, greeted us when we arrived and checked on us on occasion while we browsed our options. We experienced no pressure to buy. When we finally found what we wanted, Shawn made sure we received the best available deal, and he helped us complete the transaction in just a few minutes. The recliners will be delivered this Wednesday. We definitely recommend working with him once you arrive in the store.
