I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Johnny at Rooms To Go was incredibly frustrating from start to finish. I came in to complete a $6,000 bedroom set and additional mattresses for another bed I already owned that I had previously started with another associate, so Johnny didn’t have to do much to “sell” me on the purchase. Unfortunately, Johnny seemed more interested in rushing through the process and securing the sale than actually listening to my needs. I specifically asked him to update my delivery address and to use my husband’s phone number for the delivery contact, but neither of these requests were followed. As a result, my order was set to be delivered to the wrong address, and the notifications were sent to me instead of my husband. When I tried to reach Johnny to fix these issues, he was never available. Thankfully, another associate (Marlene or Melissa) stepped in and got it sorted out. The problems didn’t end there. When the mattresses arrived, both were far too tall for the beds. I’m currently pregnant, and it was almost impossible for me to get onto one bed and very uncomfortable to use the other. Even the delivery associate said the mattresses were too big and suggested we order different sizes. Once again, I tried to contact Johnny, but he was nowhere to be found. When I finally spoke to him, he insisted the mattresses were correct and blamed the way the beds were assembled—despite the fact that their team assembles beds regularly. Johnny scheduled a fix for Friday (my husband’s only day off), but the order for the foundation piece hadn’t even been placed, so no one showed up. More phone calls and frustration followed, as Johnny remained unavailable. Another associate eventually scheduled the repair and ordered the new foundation for one of the beds, but even that process was confusing and inconvenient. Overall, the lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and apparent disinterest from Johnny made this a very stressful experience during an already challenging time. I hope Rooms To Go provides better training and accountability for their staff or I will be cancelling my Rooms to go credit card and be shopping only at Ashley.
